Salvinelli set out to visit and photograph the health facilities where the Italian cooperation and AISPO have worked, in particular the children's hospital, the regional hospital and the burns unit at Herat. The pictures bear witness to the suffering of a battered population that goes on fighting, but also to the effort and the humanity of those who struggle every day.
