A Lakota, a Native American of the plains, does not travel only in space: his way of travelling crosses time, his own soul, and above all the history of his people. This is a journey looked at first through the eyes of the Lakota themselves and only afterwards through those of three white travellers.

Through the pictures of Alessio Vissani, the account of the anthropologist Alessio Martella and the drawings of Ivan Cavini, one can learn what it means to be Lakota today, what it means to live as a Native American, what it means to belong to the same people as Sitting Bull.
