Val is the story of a territory lived in and crossed: the valley of the Romanche, a tributary of the Isère. It joins portraits of the men and women who make it up with the landscapes of the upper valley.

The work was carried out for the Isère festival Paysage>Paysages in the spring of 2018: huge portraits of residents were installed outdoors on the walls of buildings and on houses along the twenty kilometres of the D 1091.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
