A special edition issue curated, designed and published by AVARIE, Paris, and Labor Neunzehn, Berlin. It accompanies the KAMERA programme while remaining an independent object to collect. The central idea that directs the montage of these small volumes is the interplay between addition and subtraction: a missing image from the projection, or an unreleased second taken from an artist's work, expanded over twenty-four pages, with a piece removed directly from the show enclosed in every copy. The editing sets up a dialogue between frames and performed writings drawn from texts, scripts, storyboards and notes, so that the exhibition is extended into a physical space.

KAMERA is a programme of experimental moving images and printed matter held in a former GDR building in Berlin. Each event shows a retrospective of one artist over four days, alongside a small display of their publications or works on paper, and sets out to foster a critical dialogue between different formats.

Andrea Dojmi is a visual artist, director, painter, sculptor and writer. His work is the continuous recording of a stream of consciousness across different media. His recurring themes are unity and multiplicity, transformation and rebirth, loss of identity and awakening, individual spiritual crisis and community, and the old education system with its organisation of space. His narration is fragmentary, with a granular aesthetic in which the themes interweave, pervaded by a constant serenity that at times reveals tragedy or enlightenment.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
