According to Mercedes Halfón, Quieta is a book made up of photographs by Guadalupe Gaona that describes “the slow process of dismantling an aristocratic house in Buenos Aires. This is the event chosen for photography. A period that goes from full to empty, in which a house loses its attributes of home, ceases to be habitable, to become an inhospitable space. The result is a visual narrative -without accompanying writingsvery propositive in the context of Latin American photography.

This publication won first place in the first edition of the Fotolibro Latinoamérica contest, organized by RM in 2010. The prize was awarded by the members of the jury, made up of Horacio Fernández, Graciela Iturbide, Martin Parr, Lesley Martin, Álvaro Sotillo, Diran Sirinian, Ramón Reverté, Alexis Fabry and Juan Pablo Quiroz.
