The St. Georg district begins right behind Hamburg Central Station. It is not a place of the big world, but one of the little people. For those in a hurry, love and forbidden substances can be purchased there. If you have more time, a small cosmos opens up. In the spring of 1981, Dirk Reinartz (1947–2004) studied photography at the Folkwangschule in Essen. From 1971 to 1977 he was a photo reporter for “Stern”. Reinartz taught photography at the Muthesius University in Kiel. Many of his books were published by Steidl Verlag, including “Inner Affairs” and “New York 1974”.
