Play, Miroslav Tichý. Photograph for the sole pleasure of photographing. He refuses to become a journeyman and burns his photographs, throwing ambitions and constraints into the stake. When the Russians take control of Czechoslovakia, he alienates himself from a system he doesn't reconcile with. Having been forced to commit himself to the values ​​of those in charge, he disobeys by photographing women along the streets of Kyjov. And devoted to imperfection, he transforms his exile into a vision. An avant-garde photographer, he conducts an experimentation with the photographic medium that pushes towards its reinvention: moving it back to a rudimentary, primordial form, with which photography returns to being poetry. Thousands of photographs, which remained hidden for a long time, handed over to the handling of time, make up his visual legacy and bear witness to one of the most authentic artistic experiences of the twentieth century.
