At a time of global warming, the scarcity of fossil fuels and where the Russian-Ukrainian conflict weighs heavily on economic and environmental policies, nuclear power is more than ever a hot topic. From 1960 to 1980, the photographer Jean Pottier found the right distance to capture the social issues involved in this new energy. He captures in the same gaze both the excess and modernity of the power plants under construction and the first local struggles against their installation.
