Since 2015 Patrick Tourneboeuf has continued his work on war memorials in the Hauts de France region. Invited by Diaphane for a creative residency, Patrick focused on the singularity of certain war memorials, both in their architectural specificity and in their symbolism.

At nightfall, emptied of all human presence, these stone bodies resonate within us like the instantaneous and dramatized memory of these soldiers who fell on the battlefields of the First World War.

This book is published on the occasion of the “Stèles” exhibition as part of the Photaumnales 2018 festival in Beauvais.
