Vimeu is a territory located in the southwest of the Somme department, in Picardy.

It takes its name from a small river which crosses it for twelve kilometers: La Visme.

It is bordered by the sea to the west (Picardie Maritime), to the north by the Somme valley and to the south by the Bresle Valley, in the center of this territory, Friville Escarbotin is the capital.

Its industrial reputation is based on the traditional industries of locksmithing, valves, foundry and bar turning.
