Text by Cécile Odartchenko

Traveling the Valois in the footsteps of Gérard de Nerval was the starting point for this work. I first looked for atmospheres of forests and ponds as written by the writer in the beautiful pages of “Sylvie” but during the shots, my mind was occupied by a romantic feeling and the idea of a woman. For me, everything revolved around Sylvie and romantic desire.

We had to represent Sylvie, a lively girl, dark and luminous.

The landscape is an important framework which takes its meaning in relation to the memory and the ideal of woman and love that the poet glorifies.
