The book Muhammad Ali, Zürich, 26.12.1971 shows the prominent American boxer Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) preparing for and during his Zürich fight against the German Jürgen Blin on 26 December 1971. In early 1971, after media harassment of the “conscientious objector Ali” and a three-year ban at the peak of his career, Ali had lost the “Fight of the Century” against Joe Frazier that March. Around Christmas 1971 the Zürich promoter Hans-Ruedi Jaggi first brought the loud-mouthed boxing champion, known for his bravado, to Zürich for a prize fight. The book documents this little-known episode of the champion's career through Eric Bachmann's black-and-white photographs.
