Peter Bialobrzeski explores in his new Project “Eden” the boundaries between picture taking and pictures making. Shot at the “Cradle of Humankind” in South Africa in December 2010 the well known photo artist looks at the relationship between believe and science. The place itself which is meant to be the cradle of civilisation turns into a Paradise in the images of Peter Bialobrzeski. The artists:“It is of course not the kitchy place the creationists have hijacked in order to circulate their crude theories of anti-scientific, fascist derivative concepts of christianity. Nevertheless it is this contradiction between science and believe that fuels an emotion to create images of rare beauty.”

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
