Since August 2009, I have been working with two hundred models, for over fifteen days of shooting, to produce the 42-meter-long photograph, "History of Monuments." This work is my reflection on what has been said about civilizations, beauty, virtues, standards, and norms. In Chinese tradition, many historical documents are passed down from generation to generation. Figures, poems, literature, dramas, etc. are often works dedicated to powerful people, whose purpose is to recount and commemorate the achievements achieved during their reign. Each dynasty has its own interpretations, but so do those of its own dynasty, and so on. It is undeniable that many of these versions are misleading. (Wang Qingsong)
