The first time I saw him was through a viewfinder. It was on a summer’s night of 2010, on a ferry heading to Sicily. As soon as he saw me he stopped selling lighters and approached the camera until his face filled the frame. Then he started to move like a puppet, make animal noises and dance moves. We,ve been friends since then.
