The photographs from the series Divagation – Sur les pas de Bashō were made in Japan in 2015 and 2016.
Divagation – Sur les pas de Bashō is a poetic journey inspired by the travels of Matsuo Bashō through 17th‑century feudal Japan. Klavdij Sluban reinterprets this journey through his sensitive and poetic images, offering in this book an intimate and inward journey.
Klavdij Sluban is the laureate of the Photography Prize of the Académie des Beaux‑Arts – Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière. A part of this project was carried out during a residency at the Villa Kujoyama, branch of the Institut Français du Japon, supported by the Institut Français and the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller.
Limited edition of 300 numbered and signed copies, including 50 special artist copies.
