The book may look like a dialogue between two sculptors and a photographer, but it is much more: a story of mutual intimacy, of a familiarity and trust that, through the photographs, creates a further autobiographical level. This is neither the photography of the “art photographer” nor mere documentation: there is a reciprocal giving between the parties, each in their own role. The photographer’s work is a critical act that enters the work, reads it and shows how it is made, going beyond the surface and beyond the visible, attracted by the artist’s gesture and by the inner and mechanical process that makes the work visible.
