One district, ten photographers, 100 pictures. 1010 is a communal photography project, a performance shared by ten photographers who each gave themselves the challenge of creating ten images of one chosen place. For this first round the choice fell on the burgeoning neighbourhood around the Midi Station in Brussels, an important point of passage and a bubbling melting pot of life. In the end these 100 photos try to give an image of this place, a subjective perspective: ten free gazes that join to form one.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
