Since moving to Japan in 2006, Anat Parnass has photographed the night views of Tokyo and its surroundings. In this project she gives a unique interpretation of the glitter of the night: ghostly images that enhance an exotic beauty and emphasise a surreal nature, the night light and the creatures that live in the darkness, at once beautiful, exotic and at times frightening. The title may sound scary, yet there is something mesmerising in the 'eternal night' that makes the viewer willing to be immersed in it, writes Kotaro Iizawa in the text of the booklet.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
