For the sixth edition of Baron, the artist Petra Collins turns the camera on herself, in her first venture into self-portraiture. The book takes its Hungarian title, Miért vagy te, ha lehetsz én is?, which asks why be you, when you can be me. Collins uses the camera as a third person that captures historical truths and an emotional reality with a complicated relationship to intention and perception, and works with the sculptor Sarah Sitkin to create moulds of her own body and her sisters' bodies. The photographs set constructed domestic interiors against real exterior locations, with Collins's family and friends. Art director Sandra Leko drew on the graphics and layouts of Japanese kinbaku magazines, and the sequencing of the images is disjointed and ambiguous, following its own peculiar logic.
