Photobook dummy by Soledad Soler Quesada and Carlota Ayub Larrouse (Spain and Argentina), shortlisted for the Dummy Award 2026. The book explores the bond between a grandmother and her granddaughter and examines the potential of the camera to deploy power dynamics between subject and photographer. It does so by addressing the circumstances of Carlota Ayub's exile and her struggle to find her daughter, who disappeared during Argentina's last dictatorship. The black cloth cover bears a tone-on-tone silhouette of a standing figure and no text. The Dummy Award, organised by the PhotoBookMuseum in Cologne, shortlisted 48 unpublished dummies from about 325 entries from more than 45 countries; the shortlist travels on a world tour of photography events and venues.
