The book is about a poetic dilemma between a mother's longing for peace and the reality of her son choosing a military path in a fragile and conflict-ridden world. Through a transformable photobook that unfolds into a camouflage-like poster, it reveals how emotions themselves become a kind of camouflage, holding pride, fear, love and contradiction all at once. The cover shows green fern fronds and a close-up of a camouflage jacket with a zip, on a black cloth-bound hardcover with an overlapping flap. The Dummy Award, organised by the PhotoBookMuseum in Cologne, shortlisted 48 unpublished dummies from about 325 entries from more than 45 countries; the shortlist travels on a world tour of photography events and venues.
