Photobook dummy by Nora Handsley (Germany), shortlisted for the Dummy Award 2026. The book deals with illness and the loss of autonomy it brings, as days blur and meaning begins to shift. It is about holding on, reclaiming agency, and finding moments of humour and tenderness within it. The cover is a grainy, high-contrast black-and-white image of perforated metal forms and a vertical perforated strip, with a small crosshair-like mark. The Dummy Award, organised by the PhotoBookMuseum in Cologne, shortlisted 48 unpublished dummies from about 325 entries from more than 45 countries; the shortlist travels on a world tour of photography events and venues.
