The fourth Dashwood publication by Ari Marcopoulos, an artist the publisher finds interesting to collaborate with: always eager to experiment with the book form, prolific, and consistently of high quality. Conceived as a colour counterpoint to his earlier book Even the President of the United States Sometimes Has Got to Stand Naked, it reflects his move to the East Coast and the ongoing interplay between home, work and the road. The date-stamped colour snapshots include a young woman in front of a wall of red graffiti, an older bearded man in a hooded jacket and a figure leaping in front of a bare tree. In the artist's words, whether at home or travelling there is constant visual input; as an image-maker one is asked to make distinctions and decisions about what to extract, and after more than three decades of practice he set out to free himself even from his own expectations.
