Closing volume of a two-part series covering the years from 1980 onward
Published in conjunction with an exhibition at the Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki
Highly influential beyond Sweden as well, this second of two volumes covering work from 1980 onwards carries on chronologically from where the previous book left off, giving an overview of output from the start of the 1990s to the 2000s. The themes of beauty and death, life and humanity, are at the heart of these works, approached in a powerful and direct, yet tangibly sensitive style. Born in 1950 in Finland, the artist passed away in Stockholm in 2017; between 1992 and 2002 she was the first woman to hold a professorship in the medium at the School of Photography and Film at the University of Gothenburg.
