Story by Mason Williams
Photographs by Ken Price, Joe Goode and the artist
Staged as a sequence of film stills, this book illustrates a short story involving an enormous salad, five gallons of dressing, a Skid Row hotel room, a hard-to-get woman, and a small box of saltine crackers. Played out by a cast of the artist's friends and photographed with the flat, sequential logic of a storyboard, the deliberately absurd plot was later adapted into a short film of its own.
