Texts, chronology, captions and glossary by Ray Dolphin
The book presents the panoramic work made between 2008 and 2012 in Jerusalem, Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem and in various Israeli settlements along the route of the barrier that separates Israel from Palestine. Israelis call it a security fence, Palestinians the apartheid wall, and groups such as Human Rights Watch use the term separation barrier: the wall at the centre of the project stands as a metaphor for a human rift in the natural landscape. The images are accompanied by texts from Ray Dolphin, a researcher and writer who has compiled numerous reports on the barrier for the United Nations and who lived in the West Bank and in Gaza for more than twenty years; he also prepared the chronology, the captions and the glossary.
