A book full of images, of surprises and of stories about picture-making, meant for young eyes. Images speak to us, dig out the most hidden details of the real, ask us questions and stay ambiguous because they never give themselves away completely, letting us imagine what they do not say. They can move us, make us think, amuse us, stir curiosity and fancy, carry us back in time and far in space, invite us to invent stories. Divided into four sections — People, Places, Objects, Animals — the book presents a remarkable set of images by great authors, each accompanied by a short text from Alessia Tagliaventi that tells it and guides the reading, bringing out its main features, asking questions and offering starting points for stories that can always be new. A card with a hole in it comes with the book, to be used as a frame for entering an image and hunting for the details that intrigue most, or for looking at the world in search of possible new framings. It is an education in the art of looking, interactive, that trains the eye and encourages the reader to add their own point of view to the many ways of seeing the real.
