Interview by Hamza Walker
Essay by Maggie Nelson
Presented chronologically by year, beginning in 2015
An inveterate maker of zines, the artist gathers here for the first time in one volume a selection of them, many never released before. Often self-issued or made with independent publishers, these informal creations work as a sketchbook, a diary, an installation space and a means of processing his daily practice of photographing his life, his family, his neighbourhood and the rarefied cultural milieu in which he moves. Key zines are shown chronologically — including some made during the pandemic, when he worked mainly on screen — punctuated by individual pictures reproduced full scale.
