Light, rigid, almost transparent paper

Sisyphe presents for the first time in full the series of the same name, which unfolds across thirty-two pictures. It reveals as many fragments of a scene suddenly become opaque, where nothing surfaces but an enigmatic tangle of thighs, backs, napes, breasts and hair: anonymous gestures without a story, a voluptuousness of mixed bodies, without a gaze. The volume has an unusual feel, and its light, rigid, almost transparent paper brings the grey scale of the work to the fore.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
