Since 2011 the German photographer Eiko Grimberg has watched the rebuilding of the Berlin palace and researched the many strata of German history as they are revealed and rewritten. In this volume he examines once again the ties between architecture and history, here through the details of the Berliner Schloss: mouldings, scaffolding, casts and stone surfaces that carry, in fragments, the question of what a reconstruction chooses to remember.
