Kaddish is about the loss of three people very close to the artist, and the way those voids are reflected in surprising and often absurd ways in daily life. The oldest picture in the volume shows his great-uncle in Rome in 1947; the most recent shows his own shadow on a wall in Germany in 2023. Hundreds of pictures collected and kept over the last twenty years form an amorphous, ambient scroll of information: frames from archives, texts, emails, pictures taken from family albums, home movies, screenshots, Zoom funerals and telephone footage.
