Archive Dora Diamant is a series of photography volumes begun in 2022 and co-issued by Éditions l'Amazone. A self-taught photographer and an iconic figure of the Parisian nights, Dora Diamant left several thousand pictures behind her. Working from that body of material, each instalment is put together by someone close to the artist according to a choice of pictures, a rhythm and an arrangement of their own, so that every volume offers a singular reading of her work and lets new associations, narratives and points of view emerge. The series, begun after her death at the instigation of her friends, reads like the private diaries of an icon of the Paris party scene and reveals a photography full of poetry and of connections.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
