The reissue of the second groundbreaking book by the photographer and, in her own term, portal-maker JEB (Joan E. Biren). In the years after her first book, Eye to Eye: Portraits of Lesbians, came out in 1979, JEB worked with lesbians across the United States to build a picture of lives that were not being photographed anywhere else.
