A joint publishing project with Forth + Back, the Los Angeles design studio of Nikolos Killian and Tanner Woodbury. Out of their love affair with New York, they began wandering its streets through Google Earth and documenting the strange frozen images of life they found there. Dreams of New York is a dream-like documentation of three years of digital ramblings, a 208-page coffee table book. In its small first edition it was selected among AIGA’s 50 Books / 50 Covers winners for 2019.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
