Lindokuhle Sobekwa began this project after finding a family portrait with the face of his sister Ziyanda cut out. He describes her as a secretive, rebellious and rough presence, and recalls the dark day when she chased him and he was hit by a car: she disappeared hours later and came back only a decade later, ill. By that time he had become a photographer and realised that the family had no picture of her, and he lifted the camera when he saw the light coming through the window onto her face.
