The Emosson region in the Swiss canton of Valais has a breathtaking alpine landscape punctuated by monumental feats of hydroelectric engineering, among them three dams and a power station hidden in a cavern six hundred metres underground. Two photographers set out to capture that awe-inspiring terrain and found themselves on a three-year journey uncovering the intricate bond between people, energy and water, across mountains and seasons.
