Made with the Fondation Tara Océan
Series: Civis Maritimus
Made with the Fondation Tara Océan for the twentieth anniversary of the Tara expeditions, this is a retrospective of the artists who have sailed aboard the schooner over those twenty years — a chance to throw light on the ocean, on a biodiversity still little known, on its part in the machinery of climate and on the pollution that reaches it today, all through art.
It is laid out around five themes: pollution, landscape, the living, the sensible and the travel notebooks. Against these artistic propositions, scientific notes extend what one sees, setting the rigour of those marine expeditions talking with the imagination of the artists.
