Text by Jean-Christian Fleury
During his many journeys in east Africa, Gilles Perrin met the Mursi and the Surma, peoples of the Omo valley in Ethiopia. Over several years he recorded these women and men who carry on ancestral ways of living, building a gallery of black and white portraits of the last naked warriors. The images were made with a large camera on black and white Polaroid film between 2005 and 2008.
