Extraordinary reproduction of a unique album. Inside, over one hundred photographs of Helmut Newton, from iconic images to those never seen before. Helmut Newton, a German-born Australian, is one of the most famous fashion photographers in the world. Influenced by expressionist cinema, film noir and surrealism, Newton was a prolific image maker and visionary. His bold work helped shape photography and modern visual art. In 1999, together with collaborator Gert Elfering, Newton created a "one off" photo album - that is, unique, in a single copy - of his work. Helmut Newton: One-off reproduces that album in its entirety, even in size, just like a facsimile. This stunning album consists of over 100 photographs – 8 unique Polaroids, 16 chromogenic prints and 79 gelatin silver prints – each accompanied by Newton's handwritten annotations. In addition to the reproduction of the album, the book includes a foreword by art and photography expert Philippe Garner, as well as an interesting interview between Matthias Harder and Gert Elfering, which offers insight into the author's creative process.
