Hannes Schmid's pictures of immortal rock legends like Queen, Motörhead, Kiss, AC/DC, ABBA, Blondie, Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode became icons for generations of fans. He accompanied the bands and individual stars up close with his camera — not as a paparazzo but as a friendly “member” of the bands. In the large book Rockstars the internationally known photographer shows for the first time the best of his huge, previously unpublished archive: the most successful musicians of the 1970s and early 80s.
