The volume Spaziale.Tutti Belongs to Everyone Else collects the voices of all the protagonists involved in the Italian Pavilion at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, promoted by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture. Nine practices by young designers, in collaboration with advisors from other fields of the creative industries, were invited to develop pioneering projects in nine locations across Italy. The outcomes, simultaneously present in Venice and disseminated throughout the country, address an agenda of urgent issues for architecture: open questions about contemporaneity, linked to the scenario of transition – not only ecological – of our time. The volume includes interviews with the working groups and curators that delve into the design approaches; photographic essays guide the discovery of the intervention sites; contributions from incubators reveal the aspirations and contingencies of local communities; Finally, four in-depth texts—edited by Mirko Zardini, Charlotte Malterre-Barthes, dpr-barcelona, and Nina Bassoli—place the Pavilion project within a broader disciplinary horizon.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
