A long-term project recounting the Tuscan Maremma, its territory and some of the realities that live on the margins of this land. An intense journey starting from the coast of the Maremma Park, passing through the pine forests of Principina a Mare and Marina di Grosseto; then summer holiday spots like Castiglione della Pescaia and the old marshy areas along the Ombrone river. In the Grosseto hinterland is Nomadelfia, a communitarian population of Catholic volunteers. And then: hunters, activists, fairground workers and street vendors. It is a documentary photography project with a strong personal poetic component: here the author's childhood places and his most significant memories are photographed. Important social subjects and realities are also addressed, in order to create an anthropological portrait.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
