Photographing without the constraints of professional assignments allowed Giuseppe Loy to treat the camera as a tool for taking notes, free of the fear of “wasting” shots or of focusing on the centre while losing the margins. In his countless images, camera and man were inseparable. Giuseppe Loy died in Rome in 1981, leaving more than 50,000 photographs.
