Edited by Alan Marzo and Olivier Duport, with texts by Hatun Ali, Nouf Al-Harthi and Turki Gazzaz, this is a photographic and conversational study of the public sculptures embedded in Jeddah's urban circulation. Scattered across roundabouts and major arteries, these monumental, eccentric, modernist and at times brutalist works form an overlooked open-air museum that has shaped the city's visual and social landscape for decades. The project crystallises around a photographic essay by young photographer Hatun Ali documenting and cataloguing the monuments, alongside interviews with male and female taxi drivers conducted by researcher Nouf Al-Harthi and an essay by Turki Gazzaz. The roundabouts emerge as poetic civic markers, revealing how residents of this historic gateway to the Hajj navigate shifting social realities in a harbour city in the midst of rapid change.
