Pascal Convert confronted the cliff of Bamiyan, where two immense Buddhas were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001. From several thousand 3D scans and photographic surveys made with a cutting-edge scientific device he created a monumental work forming the most precise view of the 1,800-metre cliff and its hundreds of sanctuary caves. The book reveals this panorama in fragments, a historic site set to disappear through erosion.
