Obscuria de Profundis was developed between 2016 and 2020 as a visual inquiry into the fundamental enigma of existence. The project brings together everyday objects placed in relation to allegorical elements of the cosmos, suggesting symbolic correspondences that trace the journey of the species from its origins to the present.
At its core, the work engages with the oldest questions of human thought: What are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? These questions remain the driving force behind humanity’s continuous search for meaning, moving from darkness toward knowledge and understanding.
Structured in six chapters, the book outlines a narrative arc of the universe, stretching between an initial and a final “nothing,” encompassing the full trajectory of human history.
The photographs are interwoven with found imagery, creating a dialogue across time, matter and representation. Through this combination, the work attempts—through fiction—to approach these enduring and unresolved questions.
