Thirty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, what do we know about East German photography? The result of several years of research in Berlin and other cities of the former GDR, the publication presents the work of 16 photographers, still rarely shown outside their country, who developed their practice during the 1980s far from official propaganda, in a space of inner freedom.
