A journalist and author, the artist’s niece, paints an intimate and sensitive portrait of Sergio Larrain (1931–2012), one of Chile’s most important photographers, whose life and work are shrouded in an aura of genius and mystery. From the 1950s he produced a singular body of work that remained virtually unknown in Chile until his death. A contradictory figure, he withdrew from the world and from photography, and the book follows his path through family memory.
