The new yearbook of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) has two focal points: the work of internationally known photographers and the growing popularity of the photobook. Horst Faas, Martin Parr, Letizia Battaglia and Anders Petersen were awarded the DGPh’s Salomon Prize between 2005 and 2008, and established photography experts devote the first part of this publication to their work. The second part is about the ever more popular medium of the photobook and its publishers, describing the work of important supporters such as Robert Delpire and Lothar Schirmer. With the first-ever listing of all publications by Martin Parr and an index of all DGPh publications from the 1950s to the 1970s, frame #3 is an important reference work for every devotee of the photobook.
